The Heart of Texas Community Preparedness Portal is designed to provide the citizens, emergency responders, and emergency managers of the Heart of Texas region with current information regarding preparedness. This site is maintained by the Heart of Texas Council of Governments' Homeland Security Division with federal Homeland Security Grant Program funds.
Citizens will find the registration link to the regional Emergency Notification System in the top menu, as well as on the side bar. The regional Emergency Notification System is designed to allow emergency management and response officials the ability to contact you in the event of an emergency or disaster within Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone and McLennan Counties. Citizens will also find a list of emergency management contacts within their county and information on the hazards that affect their communities.
The Citizen Corps Program allows citizens who are interested in serving as a disaster volunteer to register for upcoming courses and learn more about what citizens are doing to better prepare the Heart of Texas region. The HOTCOG region boasts a highly engaged program with numerous teams and volunteers. From providing disaster medical assistance to Emergency Operations Center staffing, disaster volunteers rise to meet the needs of the community.
Emergency management and response professionals will also find an abundance of resources regarding upcoming meetings, grant funding availability, and training opportunities. At this time, only professionals and Citizen Corps volunteers need to register for site access.
